Renovation Project

Curtain up on a long-awaited refresh for Arlington’s only live theater
in the heart of the city’s Cultural Arts District!

As Arlington’s only live theater, 30,000 people from 3 to 103 years old attend shows and educational programming every season at Theatre Arlington — all in a building that has been adequate for many years, but it is no longer enough to support us now or in the future. All of that is about to change! Theatre Arlington’s Renovation Project focuses on improvements in production quality and patron experience that will serve the theater well as we reopen after COVID and look ahead to our future. After 48 years, Theatre Arlington is on track to be a Small Professional Theatre in 2022. As our status and production quality continue to improve, an updated theater will provide the technical support for this transition. The biggest renovation in Theatre Arlington’s history will enhance the patron experience and broaden our audience as we target efforts toward a more diverse theater onstage and in our seats. Theater patrons, performers, designers, the City of Arlington, community partners and visitors to the Arlington Cultural Arts District and Downtown Arlington will benefit from the building upgrades as Theatre Arlington maintains its major role as Arlington’s only live theater, educational and outreach organization,
and major contributor to the Arlington Cultural Arts District.
