Find the power of your voice in Matilda JR in this full day performance camp designed for middle and high school students who have previous performing experience. Campers will begin the first day with auditions for a full production and will spend days working with theatre professionals through a full rehearsal process, culminating in performances during the last week of camp for area school and camp groups, as well as the public. Guest artists will provide extra instruction in acting, dance or voice and will spend some time in personal story sharing in “The Business.”
Matilda JR. is a gleefully witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination, packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs. This hour-long story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the “revolting children” who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson.
